Amelia is a 2009 biographical film based on the life of Amelia Earhart, starring Hilary Swank as Earhart along with a cast that includes Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, and Virginia Madsen. It is directed by Mira Nair based on a script written by Ronald Bass. Bass wrote the script using several books on Earhart as sources including Susan Butler’s book East to the Dawn, Mary S. Lovell’s The Sound of the Wings and Elgin Long’s Amelia Earhart: The Mystery Solved.

The film cost US$10 million. Germany’s Federal Film Fund provided $9 million and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg provided additional fund. It is said that the famous director James McTeigue got inspiration from the 2008 film Speed Racer. The actor Rain deeply impressed him in that film. he played as a ninja fighting splendidly. James McTeigue didn’t satisfy the original script, he hired J. Michael Straczynski to Rewrite the script 6 weeks before the production start. I think Ninja Assassin will be the most popular film about ninja recent years, because the actor Rain is very famous in Asia. His acting will attract millions of his fans.
